Bad Points
General parts quality (you get what you pay for):
Soft nuts and bolts, some vibration above 5000rpm:
Gear selector lever quality and 1st, N, 2nd selection (on mine - with my 2-left feet):
Km 'milometer' (speed is in miles, though):
Insurance swindle for being 'an import' - and Honda is not??
Supplied mirrors not wide enough to see around the elbows

General Comments
SY-125-11B. Supplied with some assembly required, which although not beyond the novice would have been asisted with instructions! Nice touch was the battery that comes complete with acid for a quick set-up. The crating was excellent.
The nuts and bolts are easily rounded / scored but otherwise I am impressed with what such little money can buy. Yes, the plastic is plastic and the alloy is alloy - not as 'quality in feel' as Honda, but it's a living breathing bike for under £700 on-the-road (if you shop on-line carefully)!
Riding is forgiving and suspension is set up tidily tight. Brakes are not as sharp as I'd like but I've not adjusted them with great care as they stop in time at factory settings.
Running in the engine is a bind, restricted to 5000rpm for 800Km, then 7500rpm up to 1600Km. That's 40 and 50mph, respectively. Try that on a UK dual-carriageway without getting spat at! To be honest, a 90Kmph top speed isn't that great but downhill with a tail wind and hugging the tank.who knows? Pre-run in would be an advantage, Sanya?
For a cheap bike, I don't feel cheap riding it. It looks okay; quite tidy, in fact. It's not a Honda but will prove a great bonus to those of us transiting through 'L' status pre-test. I have a Deauville waiting for me on my drive and I can't wait to get on it - not because the SY-125 is bad, but because any 125 is just too light for 50-miles each way on a commute. Around town, however - excellent.
The only real criticism I have is that the seat isn't the most comfortable for a long ride (over 70-miles). If I was to look at long-term ownership I'd replace it. It's also the first bike I've had with an engine cut-out on the side stand: love it or hate it like marmite, but it's something to get used to (unlike marmite).
This is cheap - yet has a disk front brake, a fuel guage, and nice paint job. It's handlbar position, width, and clutch / brake handle set up is comfortable and the electric start at this price must make it a winner?
I can't comment on reliability, yet, but if it lasts 100-miles a day for up to 5-months without pigging me about I'll be exceptionally happy. My car takes £400-a month in fuel, this will be 5-times as cheap for the total price of 2-month's car fuel! Good sense, if you ask me. And with the money I save over the longer term, so what if servicing intervals come round a little quickly?
If you want a cheap but comfortable entry to bikes or a frugal commuter, buy this bike. If you want social status and a big-name badge, reconsider the Sanya before buying the Honda for twice the price and wasting your cash. If you are returning to bikes with a full licence, get a return to bike course and get something bigger.
Summary:
You get what you pay for.
Recommended for the budget conscious or short-term learner.
Good commuting solution.

update at 1500km: what a great bike. I'm doing 160Km (100miles a day).

Running in went well to 800Km and now able to do 60mph at 7500rpm, cruising at 55mph while running in 2nd stage to 1600Km (max 7500rpm).

Slight running problem being dealt with through LS Import's sending a CDI unit this week, but although niggling it doesn't stop the commute. New NGK DR8EA spark and draining the carb failed to smooth it. Magicolor 2300dl driver windows 10. Mechanic claims engine runs, 'tight' and needs more revs. This makes it fun but I'm a plodder at heart.

Side-stand switch was not secured at manufacture; fixed. Komatsu pc07 service manual. Care needs taking to check all nuts and bolts, but only a couple have actually required re-tightening.

Fuel is approximately 4.2L per 160Km (100miles), so just shy 300miles to a 12L tank. Oil changes every 800Km (500miles) at +/-900ml at £8.99 for Castrol 10-40 4-stroke.

Top box bought at £21 with the bike really is great value and water tight. Keeping the bike clean and using Muc-Off protector to help keep it spotless.

It's a shame the neutral lamp is off line but I don't care - as long as the uneven running issue is sorted this is an EXCELLENT bike for the money, and probably for half-as-much-again.

The bike has been seen by 3 different mechanics where I solicited their opinions and each has agreed the Sanya SY125-11b is amazing value, 'it's cheap enough to throw away when you've done with it'. Hardly!
